Whenever there is even the slightest disruption to the skin, the brain receives a signal that triggers the natural regeneration process. First and foremost, this stimulates the production of collagen, which plays a vital role in nourishing the skin.

The main aim of this beauty treatment is rejuvenation. Your skin will be more supple and healthier. You’ll get rid of fine lines, stretch marks and pigmentation spots, your skin tone will even out, and you’ll also promote hair growth in cases of non-androgenic alopecia. There are several types of microneedling, but at my salon I specialise specifically in the PhiLings method as I have had fantastic results with it…

How does it all work?

At the start, you will be given all the necessary information about the procedure. Before the microneedling itself, I will apply a numbing cream to the area to be treated, which will take effect within a few minutes. The skin is then penetrated with gentle pricks using sterile microneedles. The individual pricks are 0.2–0.75 mm deep. They therefore only affect the upper layer of the skin.

During the treatment, the skin is treated with a nourishing serum which, thanks to the micro-punctures, penetrates deeper into the skin rather than remaining on the surface. Your skin will then be infused with a rejuvenating cocktail. Microneedling does not damage the capillaries or nerves in the skin and therefore…

On the contrary, your skin will look more supple and healthier shortly after the procedure.

How often the PhiLings treatment is recommended depends on the condition of your skin and your age. It also depends on the depth of wrinkles, scars and skin type. Generally speaking, it is very effective to undergo this treatment in 3–5 consecutive sessions, two weeks apart. To optimise results, it is advisable to repeat the treatment after a year, and, last but not least, aftercare of the treated skin is also important. The results of this intensive treatment will last for 5–6 months, depending on your skin type…

Contraindications

We are aware of several contraindications:

  • if you are prone to allergic reactions to metals, this treatment is not suitable for you,
  • active acne is also an obstacle,
  • The treatment is not recommended if you are taking certain medications, so please do mention this during your initial consultation,
  • Microneedling is also not recommended for people with a weakened immune system or those with autoimmune diseases

Post-treatment skincare

After microneedling, your skin may look as if you have been sunbathing. You may experience a tingling sensation or sensitivity to touch. The redness will fade within 48 hours of the treatment at the latest. During this period, it is advisable to apply only the special regenerative serum provided by the salon to your skin. Avoid using make-up and sun exposure whilst the skin is healing.

For the next 5 days, you should avoid activities that cause excessive sweating (such as saunas or vigorous exercise). Do not schedule a Botox treatment until at least three weeks after your PhiLings treatment.
